Odour Control and Dust Suppression Solutions - CAS Enzymatic Products

The CAS Enzymatic range of products and their application

Sewage treatment.

We have a variety of products available, these include surface residue treatment, bottom sludge treatment and a sludge treatment product that exhibits excellent sludge penetration and in some cases cleaning of pipes, it is naturally non- corrosive and non-aggressive.

New to the market is the CAS Enzymatic products treatment for the elimination of fat oil and grease in sewer networks.

Advantages of implementing the FOG and CAS Enzymatic treatments.

  • Potential energy saving due to cleaner sewers and pumps.

  • Reduction in BOD.

  • Fewer tanker movements and therefore reduced transport cost

  • Reduced maintenance hours.

  • Less fat build up within the treatment plant.

  • Fewer odours generated on site

  • Less corrosion in sewer network.

  • Less foam within the treatment plant.

CAS ENZYMATIC PRODUCTS VERSUS CHEMICAL TREATMENT IN WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS

Chemical treatments can be divided into two types.

a) Corrective Treatment, where chemical products are applied to neutralise H2S which has already formed. These chemicals include ferric chloride, potassium permanganate, etc.

b) Preventive treatment, where the chemical products are applied to prevent the formation of H2S. These chemicals include calcium nitrate sodium nitrate and hydrogen peroxide etc.

The addition of chemicals in the network involves:

  • The provision of storage space including large storage tanks.

  • Power and / or water.

  • Chemical dispensing equipment.

  • Continuous dosing.

  • Access for tankers

  • Working with large doses of hazardous chemicals.

Treatment with CAS Enzymatic products:

  • This type of treatment consists of a large number of aerobic and facultative bacteria as well as selected enzymes being injected into the sewer network.

  • These products help to prevent the anaerobic bacteria present in the system operating in the anaerobic zone and therefore inhibiting the formation of H2S.

  • These specially selected bacteria and enzymes can break down fats and oils which are accumulated on the walls of lift stations and on the inside of pipes etc. This can avoid the clogging of pipes and pumps and help to maintain a clean network.

  • The CAS Enzymatic products use the sewer as an extension of the treatment plant to reduce BOD entering the plant; this improves the process and “virtually” increases the capacity of the plant.

  • The treatment works with very small doses.

  • The products do not require dispensing equipment or electrical or water supplies.

  • The products can be applied to any sewer.

  • Product doses are applied manually once or twice daily.

  • The effects of the treatment can last a few days after cessation of dosing.

  • The products are neither dangerous nor toxic and are therefore easy to handle

  • CAS Enzymatic products are less expensive to use than chemical treatments.

CAS ENZYMATIC PRODUCTS VERSUS CHEMICAL TREATMENT IN WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANTS

Landfill sites.

Odour neutraliser can be sprayed manually to any ground that is emitting odour or added to a bowser and towed along and sprayed if the area to be treated is too large for the previous method.

Leachate lagoons.

LCH is applied directly to the leachate or injected into the leachate tanks prior to treatment. Neusol LCH has an immediate effect on odours produced from leachate

Waste transfer stations.

CAS Enzymatic FD can be applied topically to odorous material to prevent the escape of odours. A recent installation has proved extremely successful in banishing odours from food waste that had been stored in bins for up to two weeks. The results were immediate and impressive.
